The Challenge
The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center's website was failing to serve as a crucial medium for patient support and guidance, particularly in the pre-appointment, diagnosis, and recovery stages.
The Solution
NavigationArts began the strategic redesign with a variety of user research activities. During one-on-one and group interviews, patients and their families talked about the journey from cancer diagnosis, to treatment and recovery, and what they were looking for on the MD Anderson Cancer Center website to guide them.
The interviews lead to a new section called Patient Care Essentials. The section includes Your First Appointment, Managing Your Treatment, and Getting Support, and facilitates new patients’ initial contact with the institution and shepherds them through the treatment process.
