Leo Mullen

Chief Executive Officer

Leo Mullen brings more than 25 years of experience building and managing businesses in the communications, design, and technology sectors to his role as CEO of NavigationArts. Since helping found the company in 2001, Leo has guided the firm through its rapid growth to one of the region's premier Internet consultancies. In addition to managing the growth of NavigationArts, Leo continues to provide strategic advisory services to some of the region's leading businesses and organizations including the Smithsonian Institution, Marriott International, and the U.S. Department of State.

Previously, Leo was co-founder and CEO of Iconixx, where he specialized in creating long-term advisory relationships with clients on e-commerce implementations, marketing, branding, user experience design, and financial communications. Long-term clients included Fortune 500 and Service 100 businesses in the U.S. and Europe, including Marriott International, General Electric, Total, and Alcatel.

Leo has held numerous board positions among business, community and philanthropic organizations, including TravelGuide Software, The Greater Washington Initiative, Norwood School, and the Holton Arms School. He also serves as chair of an advisory board to the Pennsylvania State University's College of Art and Architecture, where he was designated a 2002 Alumni Fellow.


Ted Smith

Chief Operating Officer

A seasoned manager of professional services organizations, Ted Smith has more than 20 years of communications design, technology development, and project management experience. As NavigationArts' Chief Operating Officer, Ted directs the overall operations of the company, including consulting, design, and project management practices. Ted is also a NavigationArts co-founder.

In 1994, Ted co-founded the IconixGroup, rated one of the most successful interactive design firms in the country for its work migrating marketing and communication programs to the web for companies such as MCI Worldcom, UUNet, Morgan Stanley, PIMCO, Pepco, Cysive, and Lincoln National. After the sale of IconixGroup to Iconixx Corporation in 1999, Ted assumed the role of Managing Director for the Bethesda, Maryland office, with responsibilities for more than 120 consultants in design, development, and application integration of both B2B and B2C solutions for clients such as Geico, Sprint, Schlumberger, Columbia Energy, and Citibank.

Ted holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Visual Communication Design from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.


Nancy Cazenas

Nancy Cazenas

Partner and Senior Vice President of Operations

Nancy Cazenas ensures consistently high efficiency and strategic alignment of resources on client engagements. She has managed user experience teams that developed e-commerce, information systems, and web portals from concept to launch. Before she was SVP of Operations, Nancy served as a Senior Consultant for NavigationArts, leading an engagement at the U.S. Department of State as it redesigned the Bureau of Consular Affairs' intranet. She then transitioned into the role of Resource Manager. Nancy has also served as a Senior Consultant at Aquilent, and as a manager for two start-up e-commerce companies. Nancy holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Grove City College.


Dustin Collis

Partner, Technology

Dustin Collis has over 12 years of experience in all aspects of web and application development. He specializes in Content Management System (CMS) implementations, Enterprise Search, and the over-arching integrations that create today's most sophisticated web presences. Since joining NavigationArts in 2006, Dustin has led the development effort for clients including the U.S. Department of State, M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts, the National Aquarium in Baltimore, and the Breitbart News Network. In his role as Partner and head of Technology, Dustin manages a team of 30 that focuses on building multi-channel web presences for organizations whose sites fulfill critical business objectives.  Prior to joining NavigationArts, Dustin worked at Ironworks, Media General, and Lipper Inc., a Reuters Company.

Denise Lodge

In her role as head of User Experience at NavigationArts, Denise Lodge drives the organization's focus around critical thinking, innovation, creativity, efficiency and cross discipline collaboration.  Denise brings 25 years of wide-ranging experience delivering complex, systems-oriented projects for Fortune 500 clients. Denise has been with NavigationArts since its beginning and has helped to shape the way the company delivers the high quality experiences that have been the core of our 10-year reputation as an industry leader. She has been lead consultant for such clients as Marriott International, M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, Smithsonian Institution, Sallie Mae, General Dynamics, American Red Cross and the National Education Association. Before joining NavigationArts, Denise was a Senior Account Director with Iconixx. Over her 13 years there, she performed roles across the organization including senior designer, information architect, project manager, and business developer, culminating in managing major account relationships and overseeing project teams for Citibank International, GEICO, Sallie Mae, Lincoln National, and many others.

Bob has over 75 years of experience in the fast food and web industries. Starting his career as a chubby little boy who swept floors in exchange for free hamburgers, Bob has been a pioneer of innovation. From the double decker hamburger to future of online publishing, it’s all gold. Bob fancies himself the social director and dog walker of NavigationArts (though, some might disagree).
