2008 Press Release
NavigationArts Will Redesign Site for The Sacramento Bee
MCLEAN, VIRGINIA, April 21, 2008 – NavigationArts, a leading user experience design consultancy, has been selected by The Sacramento Bee to redesign their website, www.sacbee.com. The Sacramento Bee has served northern California since 1857. The newspaper has a circulation area that covers approximately 12,000 square miles, reaching over 300,000 subscribers and 700,000 readers.
NavigationArts will leverage their expertise in user-centered design, and their experience developing web strategies for newspaper sites, to create a more engaging website for The Sacramento Bee. NavigationArts’ consultants have participated in website redesign efforts for the Newspaper Association of America, The Washington Post, and The Charlotte Observer, and appreciate first-hand the unique challenges facing the publishing industry today.
"NavigationArts will help The Sacramento Bee leverage the Web’s potential," said Leo Mullen, NavigationArts CEO. "A new site architecture and design will facilitate broader and deeper interactions with site content, and improve engagement with site visitors."
The primary goal of the site redesign is to enhance the online experience to drive more satisfying user interactions and promote regular, repeated visits. NavigationArts will employ a phased approach, kicking off the project with stakeholder interviews and requirements gathering to assess business goals and ensure that all audience needs are met. NavigationArts will provide services including internet strategy, information architecture, user interface design, and development.
