Greater Washington Initiative Launches New Web site Developed by NavigationArts
MCLEAN, VA — May 25, 2004 — The Greater Washington Initiative today launched a new web site to help the spur development in the region. The web site delivers a vast array resources to help business make the decision to locate or expand operations in the Washington metropolitan area. This new site replaces an earlier web site, but delivers more information structured to be more useful and effective to site visitors.
The new web site has been completely restructured to provide clear navigation and easy access to its many pages of data. The site includes information on regional population and economics, market research, employment, real estate, transportation, and quality of life. It also provides information on doing business in Washington: government, high technology, biotech, international, small business, and the area’s growing venture capital sector.
The site’s vast resources are made more navigable by a user-centered design developed for GWI by McLean-based usability consultants NavigationArts. They provided a high-level architecture that aligned the site structure with user needs. And NavigationArts also provided an updated an attractive graphic design to the site.
The Greater Washington Initiative (GWI) is a regional cooperative marketing organization and serves corporations and site selection consultants with complimentary and confidential research and support. A nonprofit affiliate of the Washington Board of Trade, GWI is financially supported by local public jurisdictions and more than 70 area companies.
