R.J. Townsend Joins NavArts as Drupal Lead

McLean, VA — October 4th, 2011

NavigationArts, a strategic web consultancy, is proud to announce the addition of R.J. Townsend to our Development Practice. R.J. will be leading NavigationArts’ Drupal team of designers and developers on implementations of the open-source Content Management System (CMS). A veritable Drupal guru, R.J. is the author of Foundation Drupal 7, one of the very first books on the latest iteration of the platform.

R.J. joins NavigationArts from Cultivate Technologies, a web development and support shop specializing in Open Source Software (OSS). At Cultivate, R.J. managed the startup of CodeMyDesigns.com, a Drupal development service for graphic designers. He also led the design and development of over 35 web applications and content management systems, including a web-based project management application that automates research procedures and data collection for No Child Left Behind.

“Over the last two years, Drupal has taken the lead in the open-source web industry,” said Dustin Collis, NavigationArts’ Director of Development. “Having someone like R.J., who commands an in-depth understanding of Drupal and has been working on the platform for the last five years, is an enormous advantage to our already skilled team.”

NavigationArts’ Development Department has grown enormously over the past several years. In addition to Drupal PHP development, NavigationArts specializes in a variety of .NET and Java content management systems including Sitecore and Adobe CQ5. Remaining an industry leader in emerging technologies, such as Drupal 7, is essential to delivering the right platform solution to our clients.
