MAA Debuts Mobile Optimized Website

McLean, VA — July 11th, 2011

NavigationArts, a strategic web consultancy, is proud to announce the launch of a mobile optimized website for Mid-America Apartment Communities (MAA). MAA is a leading public real estate company with an award-winning portfolio of more than 160 apartment communities across the Sunbelt region of the United States. The mobile MAA website is an extension of the website redesign NavigationArts completed for MAA in March.

As part of the initial MAA website redesign, NavigationArts developed a persona-based user experience that quickly enables visitors to self identify and locate content specific to their needs. The goal in creating the mobile experience was to further refine that model for the visitors likely to access the site from their phones. NavigationArts believes the most effective mobile experiences focus on clearly defined tasks that a user can complete in under a few minutes. Mobile Website Images

“Mobile users are more task oriented, yet their devices have small screens, low bandwidth, and tiny keyboards,” said Mark Davenport, NavigationArts’ Senior Consultant for the project. “So we’ve made it easy to locate communities on a map, find apartments, and contact the community with a few taps of your finger.”

NavigationArts also optimized the experience for iPad users, allowing them to use the full version of the site just like a desktop computer.

The new mobile optimized website is another feather in the cap for MAA, which brands itself as one of the most technologically sophisticated apartment management firms.

“This particular release of our mobile website provides enhanced functionality for prospective customers that our previous mobile site did not offer,” says Melintha Ogle, Director of Marketing for MAA. “Customers looking at several of our communities within an area now have location-based search tools to quickly find and contact a property. Of particular importance with this release is an optimized website experience for iPad users, as we anticipate the use of this device to increase exponentially in the coming months.”
