Advocate Physician Partners Launches Dynamic Intranet
McLean, VA — April 18th, 2011
NavigationArts, a strategic web consultancy, today announced the launch of an intranet portal for Advocate Physician Partners (APP). APP is the care management and managed care contracting joint venture between Advocate Health Care and more than 3,800 physicians on the medical staffs of Advocate hospitals. The intranet is integral to APP’s relationship with its member physicians. NavigationArts helped envision a new intranet to enhance brand identity online, increase website usage by physicians, and enable better control over website content and communications. Working closely with the APP team, NavigationArts revised site architecture, created a new high quality look and feel, and built the intranet using Sitecore, a content management system.
“Our key users are physicians and their office staff who are juggling the demands of caring for their patients while adapting to the constant change that characterizes the healthcare industry,” said Mark Shields, Senior Medical Director for APP. “Providing them with a tool that facilitates and supports their efforts to provide outstanding care to their patients was the overriding goal of this project. Every aspect of the new site, from architecture to navigation to design, fully supports that goal.”
Through a user-centered approach, the NavigationArts team prioritized the site’s structure and layout with the ultimate goal of facilitating a stronger relationship between APP and its physician members. Each year, the number of physicians participating in Advocate Physician Partners grows, so building a flexible tool that meets the unique needs of each audience segment is critical. The intranet was designed with ease of use in mind in order to encourage physician collaboration so that they may address important quality and cost of care topics. The new intranet’s design supports APP’s position as a forward-thinking professional organization.
“We are thrilled that APP is happy with their new, dynamic intranet portal,” said Meghan Glasgow, Senior Consultant at NavigationArts who led the project. “This web tool empowers the organization to remain at the cutting edge of the healthcare industry.”
