Matt Schleyer to Lead NavigationArts' Design Practice

February 24th, 2009

Today NavigationArts, a leading user experience design consultancy, announced that Matt Schleyer has joined the firm as Director of Design. Matt brings his considerable talent and experience in graphic design, brand identity, and interactive design to NavigationArts, where he’ll be leading the visual design team.

Before joining NavigationArts, Matt was the Creative Director at Magnet Interactive, which was acquired by AKQA in 2000. After the merger, Matt remained Creative Director at AKQA and managed a creative team of 24 designers, content developers and information architects. As one of the first Web design firms to emerge in the early 1990’s, Magnet’s clients included Nike, Harley Davidson, and Nissan. While there, Matt specialized in creating compelling design solutions for Magnet’s many Fortune 500 clients.

More recently, Matt founded Velocity Media in Charlotte, North Carolina and served as Chief Creative Officer. There he specialized in identity design and brand strategy work, developing creative solutions that helped clients render their brands across all delivery platforms. A primary focus of his time at Velocity Media was to harmoniously merge the often competing strategic and creative goals for his clients and to encourage them think in new and different ways about their brands.

NavigationArts’ visual design practice engages users by creating exciting, attractive, brand-building interfaces. In order to create a successful user experience, NavigationArts reconciles the competing demands of business requirements, customer (user) needs, and technical feasibility and the business to create a compelling and memorable experience.

“We are excited for Matt to infuse his vision and talents to NavigationArts,” said Leo Mullen, NavigationArts CEO. “I’m confident he will broaden our core competencies and provide leadership to an already experienced team.”
