NavigationArts Develops Strategy and IA for The World Bank

May 23rd, 2008

NavigationArts, a leading user experience design consultancy, has been selected by The World Bank to develop a web strategy and information architecture, supported by user research. The World Bank website performs a very important function by disseminating information about developing countries around the world. Creating a website that works well for a worldwide audience, with language and cultural differences and diverse mental models is a key challenge. NavigationArts will help The World Bank more effectively reach these target audiences through a new, user-centric site architecture.

“The World Bank has taken on the world’s toughest challenge, reducing global poverty,” said Leo Mullen, NavigationArts CEO. “NavigationArts is very pleased to support The World Bank in their mission by formulating a strategic plan to better align the site with the organization’s objectives, and redesigning the site architecture with a user-centered approach.”

NavigationArts will employ a phased approach in this project. Discovery and requirements gathering will begin immediately, followed by a heuristic assessment, and an extensive user research engagement. Individual user interviews will be conducted to identify unmet needs and usability problems with the current site. Since The World Bank has an international reach, NavigationArts will rely on remote testing technology to include users who reside abroad in the sessions.
