Kelley McDonald Named Director of User Experience at NavigationArts

NavigationArts, a leading user experience design consultancy, today announced that Kelley McDonald has been selected as their new Director of User Experience. Kelley will be responsible for leading, managing, and promoting the NavigationArts User Experience practice, which consists of 17 information architects, content strategists, and visual designers. Kelley previously served as NavigationArts’ Director of Content Strategy.

Since joining NavigationArts in 2004, Kelley has served as a Senior Information Architect on projects for a wide range of companies, associations, and government organizations including NASDAQ, U.S. Department of State, Sallie Mae, Freddie Mac, American Psychological Association, Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services, Veterans Health Administration, Chemonics International, Newspaper Association of America, Hanley Wood Publishing, and Goodwill Industries.

Prior to joining NavigationArts, Kelley worked as a Senior Information Architect and Usability Specialist at SRA International, helping PBGC, a federal agency that protects workers’ retirement incomes, launch its first “eGovernment” applications. Prior to that, he worked as a Senior Information Architect and Usability Specialist at Euro RSCG Interactive, serving clients such as AOL/Time Warner, Intel, Peugeot Motors, Lockheed Martin Global Telecom, and Novartis Pharmaceutical Corporation.

Kelley is an active voice in the Washington, DC user experience community and a frequent speaker and panel participant at user experience and usability-related events and symposia. He has also team-taught a class at Georgetown University that was focused on the effect of organizational culture on product development. Kelley is a member of the IA Institute and the D.C. Usability Professionals Association.
