Careers: Sitecore CMS Developer

NavigationArts is looking for a well-rounded CMS Developer with solid experience developing web-based applications using C# and ASP.NET. This position will be responsible for the design, development, and implementation of NavigationArts web solutions. The ideal candidate is a dynamic and motivated individual with strong written and verbal communication skills, who has a strong content management background and enjoys working in a collaborative environment. Knowledge of project and development lifecycle and the ability to communicate across various departments is a benefit. Responsibilities

  • Work in a team environment and collaborate on solutions from concept to completion
  • Develop and implement user interface designs from UI specification and product requirements for a variety of clients, in a range of industries to meet project requirements and handoff to other engineers or the client
  • Communicate and collaborate with project managers, information architects, engineers, designers and user experience roles in all stages of production to create effective and intuitive user interfaces
  • Develop using C# , following agile and waterfall methodologies, test and verify development, work with other developers and software engineers, communicate with internal and external clients. Translate designs into XHTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Keep up to date with Internet best practices and trends in the content management field

Qualifications

  • BA or BS degree in a Design, Computer Science or related major
  • 3+ years experience in Application Development (2+ of those developing Web Applications)
  • 3+ years experience with ASP.NET using C# and ADO.NET
  • 3+ years experience with SQL/TSQL and SQL Server 2005
  • Ability to Design Database Tables, Stored Procedures, and SQL Queries
  • Experience with TFS, UML, Web Services, XML, and/or AJAX /JQuery is a plus
  • 3+ years experience working within a structured (iterative models preferred) development lifecycle methodology, System Integration and Infrastructure Optimization experience, leveraging documented APIs
  • Experience identifying and addressing performance and scalability issues
  • Experience developing high-volume web applications
  • Knowledge of Internet and Web technologies and best practices
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • A passion for creating highly usable Web sites that optimize the user experience
  • Strong interpersonal and teaming skills; experienced in disciplines of user experience design and development. 

The CMS Developer is a vital member of our collaborative Development team and must be able to work in our offices in McLean, VA or at a client site; therefore, we are only interested in candidates in the Washington, DC metropolitan area.
