Careers: Senior Web CMS Developer

NavigationArts is seeking a Senior Web CMS Developer to spearhead the architecting, development, migration, and integration of a Java based WCM product for intranet and internet sites. The ideal candidate will provide extensive technical architecture and development expertise supporting full lifecycle development of new web applications as well as modifications to existing systems and applications that emphasize maintainability, reliability, scalability, and performance.

The Senior Web CMS Developer will migrate content and code from legacy systems, develop templates and blueprints, optimize system and web server configurations, hand code components with APIs, participate in technical and peer review processes, support customer oriented business applications as required, and build scalable software solutions. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified candidate who wants to grow in skills and experience along with an expanding organization.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field and at least 5 years object oriented development experience; Java preferred, experience with .NET and PHP a plus.
  • More than 3 years experience with one or more proprietary or open source content management solutions. Experience with Java and XML based systems preferred.
  • Extensive experience designing and developing applications with Java, J2EE, Java Server Pages (JSP), and Servlets.
  • Experience configuring, maintaining, and optimizing application servers; Apache Tomcat, JBOSS, BEA Weblogic, Apache Web Server, and IIS. Experience migrating and deploying applications to servers a plus.
  • Highly proficient with web technologies and a demonstrated experience developing standards compliant custom UI components with CSS, HTML, XML, JavaScript/jQuery, and APIs.
  • Demonstrated experience with development tools, concepts, and technologies including AJAX, SOAP, Ant, CVS, REST, JCR, and APIs.
  • Solid relational database experience with MS SQL, Oracle, or MySQL.
  • Able to obtain government clearance.

The Senior CMS Developer is a vital member of our collaborative Development team and must be able to work in our offices in McLean, VA or at a client site; therefore, we are only interested in candidates in the Washington, DC metropolitan area.
