Careers: Front-End Web Developer

NavigationArts is looking for a creative and motivated Front-end Web Developer that loves bringing great designs to fruition with standards-compliant and semantic code. You will be responsible for using your expertise in HTML, CSS and JavaScript to realize the user experience as defined by the delivery team - a team comprised of senior consultants, information architects, user experience designers, and software engineers. We're looking for an addition to our team that is passionate about great web experiences. "Good Enough" doesn't work for us.


Responsibilities

  • Translates design comps and wireframes into a system of flexible and reusable code templates while maintaining an attention to detail
  • Develops and delivers production-ready code and supporting documentation
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage and deliver on multiple projects at once
  • Analyzes and defines solutions
  • Supports project teams as a subject matter expert and thought leader
  • Communicates and collaborates with the Senior Consultants, project managers, engineers, designers and site authors in all stages of production
  • Collaborates with team members to determine the best solution for client and user needs
  • Keeps to schedule and budget
  • Works in a team environment 

Qualifications

  • Strong command of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript 
  • Proficiency with Web standards, cross-browser compatibility, and progressive enhancement strategies
  • Skilled at building table-free layouts using semantic HTML
  • Disciplined approach to troubleshooting code and quality assurance
  • Ability to deliver on time while employing development best practices
  • Comfortable as a client-facing contact
  • Excellent collaborative, communication, and team interaction skills
  • Strong analytical skills

Bonus Qualifications Include

  • Agency experience
  • Well versed in code optimization and software design principles
  • Experience in implementation of Web content management systems
  • Experience with jQuery
  • Flex / Flash / AS3
  • Experience developing for mobile platforms
  • Experience with social networking applications and APIs

The Front-end Developer is a vital member of our collaborative team and must be able to work in our offices in McLean, VA; therefore we are only interested in candidates in the Washington, D.C. metro area.
