Technology Strategy

"Our team creates the technology experience. We look at your entire universe of requirements and select a product set that is usable, friendly, and most importantly intuitive."

Web Technology Strategy

In order to most effectively create and leverage web-enabled systems, a Web Technology Strategy is necessary to balance the lure and promise of shiny new Internet services with the realities of true technology maturity and IT investment constraints. Meeting business goals with web technologies may produce significant returns on investment (ROI), but only if the right technologies are used at the right time, with risk-aware planning around procuring, integrating and operating the technologies. A web strategy must be professionally informed by current standards, practices and working exposure to the newest technologies, service availability and digital content lifecycle trends.

This is critically important for clients who are evolving their web presence to serve more diverse, engaged audiences over a wide range of information channels and platforms; who are migrating or outsourcing back-end legacy business services to newer, web-enabled versions; or who are enabling their websites with data visualization features for real-time exposure, consumption and monetization of corporate digital assets.

Our Web Technology Strategy services include:

  • Business and Technology Requirements Definition
  • Assessment of Corporate Technical Readiness
  • Web Technology Investment Strategy and Alignment
  • Strategic Digital Technology Roadmap and Enterprise Architecture Alignment
  • Web Technology and Services Assessment and Selection
  • Digital Asset Management

Solution Architecture

In order to both inform and implement a Web Technology Strategy, it is essential to model and illustrate how all the elements of a proposed information technology (IT) solution can be integrated and operate together. This may require modeling both the current and target IT Solution Architectures from system, organization, business process and information perspectives – to the detail necessary for achieving sufficient risk mitigation and program-wide consensus, as well as compliance with Enterprise Architecture or other IT governance constraints.

Initial planning and scoping may begin with creation of a Solution Delivery Plan during a “Discovery & Planning Phase”, to fully inform and enable creation of a detailed Project Plan, a High Level Solution Architecture, an IT Cost Estimate and relevant IT Services Agreements. More detailed Solution Architecture and System Design models may next be required to finalize the decisions required to approve and develop the IT Solution. The Solution Architecture may address sub-system or technology-specific decisions ranging from security protocols, web service methods and platform availability, to data, storage and networking architectures.

Software Evaluations

Selecting the right platform for any web experience is a critical step in enabling the user experience. At NavigationArts, we know that the technology experience for developers and web editors is just as important as the one in which customers engage daily - which is why we keep all user roles and audience types in mind when making software selections.

Identifying the appropriate toolsets, whether open source or commercial, requires an understanding of technical requirements, software architectures, and engineering methods. NavigationArts has extensive experience evaluating and implementing industry-leading web technologies. While we do have a select number of best-of-breed partners across various technology disciplines, we take an agnostic approach in meeting business requirements through our software evaluation and selection processes.

Considering that there are hundreds of CMS products, dozens of analytics tools, and an ever-growing number of social platforms and services, e-commerce engines, search tools, and CRM products – the time and investment in selecting the right tools for your IT investment goals is easily justified.

Our software evaluation services include:

  • Evaluation and selection of CMS, search, and other third party installed software and licensing models
  • Identification and prioritization of business, technical and service requirements
  • Evaluation and selection of 3rd-party online services and service agreements
